Gillian Gibson
Gillian Gibson is the Director of Footprints Women’s Centre, located on the periphery of Outer West Belfast, and Lisburn City. Gillian celebrated 15 years working in Footprints this year.
Gillian Gibson graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1983. She became involved in voluntary community youth work in her home town of Portadown and completed a Community Youth Diploma (UUJ) in 1989. On leaving University, Gillian commenced employment with the Extern Organisation working with young unemployed adults for North & West Belfast and then moved on to Footprints Women’s Centre in 1993.
Footprints Women’s Centre is a purpose built women’s centre delivering valuable services to women and children living within the Colin area of Outer West Belfast. The centre works with up to 400 women per week and 100 children. It has developed as a Social Enterprise, creating permanent employment and income generated towards support services.
