Norma Shearer

Norma joined Training for Women Network (TWN) as its Chief Executive in December 2001. TWN is a cross community organisation which promotes women’s training and education and acts as a conduit for funding women’s training and reconciliation projects under the Programme for Peace and Reconciliation.

Previous posts include Senior Project Manager at Proteus and Development Officer for Community Games, Belfast. Norma has a degree in Social Policy and a post-graduate diploma in Women’s Studies and has recently completed an MSc in European Law and Policies.

TWN works across the region to promote practical initiatives to empower women to participate in the economy, politics and decision-making in all levels of society.

Norma strives to work for equality for all groups and to bring the women’s sector together in a united voice to promote the needs of women, resource the work of women’s groups and reach the most marginalised women in our society.
